Ella in Her Whelping Den

Ella is very content in her little whelping den that I made her. It is her instinct to have her puppies in a small dark place and the added box I put in her whelping box makes her feel very safe and comfortable. I expect the puppies to come this week as she is nesting alot. Her mothering instincts are a beautiful thing to see. Today as I felt the puppies moving inside her I could feel the quick and constant heartbeat of one of the little puppies. So amazing to feel! I have never felt the heartbeat of one of the little ones from inside their mother before. 🙂
