7 Weeks

October 26, 2009

This is the puppies last week here with me. This weekend they begin to go to the next stage in their life. On to their new and forever homes! šŸ™‚

They all went in this morning to the vet for their vaccinations and vet check. Everyone is looking good and healthy! šŸ™‚ No reactions to vaccinations. Ella and Trina were the smallest at 11.5 pounds (still 1/2 pound bigger than their mother was when she came to me at 8 weeks old). Niko was the largest at 14.9 pounds. šŸ™‚

Only one puppy is flying to his home this time. Niko flies to North Carolina most probably on Tuesday of next week. The rest will be picked up this weekend or into next week. All except for Ella, who gets to stay here with me. šŸ™‚ This is the first time I have kept a puppy from a litter of my own and it feels pretty good to not have to say goodbye to everyone this time.

Vreni enjoys playing with Niko and Trina.

I’m adopting a german shepherd / australian shepherd mix! She was born on January 1st, 2010 and her name is Kylie. She’s 5 weeks old today and the human parents are anxious to have the puppies gone. They’ve been eating milk soggy puppy food for a week and a half and they seem healthy. Any problem taking them to their forever homes at 6 weeks old? I’d appreciate any advice you might have…
