Five Week Old Puppies

The puppies are now eating their puppy kibble three times a day. They are being fed Purina Proplan, Large Breed Puppy. They have gained alot of weight this past week! This week they also are being weaned from their mother, Vreni. I think it will be an easy transition for the puppies and hopefully an easy one for Vreni. They now range from 7 pounds (Purple Collar Female) to 9.5 pounds (Orange Collar Male). Making this litter the largest at this age that I have had. All continue to be very healthy puppies.

I did personality tests on the puppies this week and was very pleased with the results. No really highly dominant one and no fearful puppies. Most of them tested at 3s and 4s which is what is perfect for the average family pet.

Pink Collar Female was chosen this week by her new owner. Congratulations to Kerry for choosing his little girl. Pink Collar Female’s new name is Lakota. A beautiful name in my opinion.

I have also chosen my girl from the litter. I chose Daisy Collar Female. Her new name is Ella.

Puppies are Four Weeks Old

Four weeks old. Growing. Eating. Playing. Sleeping.

I moved the puppies to their outdoor kennel last week. They were in need of more space and play area.  They are all eating and drinking water like regular little dogs. Their personalities are coming out more as each day goes by. I will personality test them all at 6 weeks old to find out just what they are………although I am getting a pretty good idea by just being around them so much.

Growing Puppies!

Puppies are in their fourth week now. Today they moved outside to the kennel during the day. They have been maturing alot this past week. Getting more curious and now needing more space to investigate and explore.

Purple Collar Female. Seems to be a calmer, more laid back type of girl.

Blue Collar Male exploring the pen. He is a confidant and bold fellow. The firstborn of this litter.

Daisy Collar Female. This girl reminds me the most of her mother when she was tiny. Laid back and easy going.

Green Collar Female. Active and vocal little girl. Very bright and curious as to the world around her.

Orange Collar Male. My pick of the litter for best Schutzhund prospect. Very intelligent and curious as to his world. Confidant. I had already decided to keep a female from this litter, or else I would keep this guy.

Nearly Three Weeks Old

The puppies are nearing three weeks old. Getting much more active. Walking around the whelping box, playing with each other, getting more curious as to the world around them. A little more of their personalities are coming out now. Also, this week, the puppies started wagging their tails in response to things.
