Eight Weeks Old and Leaving Me

July 31, 2008

Orange Collar Male has found his home! Congratulations to the Colvin family for choosing this very special puppy to be a member of their family. He is going to be named Jack.

Here he is after a bath. :)

Daisy girl takes a nap after having a good long play in the house.

Joey and Blue Collar Male snooze in the afternoon shade.

Bo smiling at me. And yes, it was very hot outside and that is why his tongue is hanging out six inches. :)

Vreni and Blue Collar Male romping in the garden.

Robey spending time with Jack (Orange Collar Male) before he leaves.

This weekend I say goodbye to four of the babies. This is the sad part for me……seeing them go. Happy as I see them join their new families. But also sad, for I most likely won’t be seeing them again.

I do so love to see photos and hear how the puppies I have raised are doing as they grow up and mature into dogs. Each time I receive a photo or information……….it is like I found a gold nugget. :)

7 Weeks Old

July 24, 2008

Due to my electricity being off for a couple days due to bad storms in the area, I have been tardy in blog posts this week. Things should be rolling normally again now.

The puppies are VERY active and investigative these days. They are curious about the world around them and want to find out everything they can.

Tomorrow they go in for their vaccinations and vet check.

Congratulations to Diana for choosing her boy! Blue Collar Male otherwise known as “The Hulk” is going to join an older German Shepherd guy that will mentor him into being a mature dog one day.

Orange Collar Male……..my sweet guy………has yet to find his forever home. This guy is so very easy going and kind. He is going to be a laid back, gentle giant of a dog. Black and red with a nice plush coat. He likes to come up to me and snuggle in my lap when he gets tired of playing.

Red Collar Male taking a snooze. Red Collar’s new name is Bogart, or Bo.

The Puppies at Six Weeks Old

July 18, 2008

The puppies were wormed again today. They will go in for their vaccinations on the 25th. Weaning was quite easy on them and on Vreni. Vreni’s milk had slowed down enough in the days before that when the complete weaning happened, she didn’t get uncomfortable or have pain. She has started to shed her coat as always happens with the dam around weaning time.

Personality tests were done yesterday. Here is a brief rundown on what the numbers mean:

1) dominant, can be aggressive

2) dominant

3) well rounded, more active

4) well rounded, laid back

5) submissive

6) independent

Daisy Collar Female is looking forward to joining the Wilkins family in a few weeks! She is one little sweetie that is going to give them much joy over the years.

Her personality test showed her mostly in the 3s with a couple 4s.

Her weight this morning was 8.5 pounds.

Congratulations to the Monroe family for choosing their boy! Red Collar Male is the “little Robey” of this litter. His personality is like his father’s was as a puppy down to a T! And his face resembles his dad’s in a striking manner.

Personality test for him showed him in the 3s and 4s. With a little more on the 4s………which means he is more on the laid back side.

His weight this morning was 9.75 pounds

Green Collar Male is quite the fearless one.

Personality test for him showed him 3s all the way down the sheet.

His weight this morning was 11 pounds.

Blue Collar Male.

His personality test showed him mostly threes with a couple 2s.

His weight this morning was 11 pounds.

Orange Collar Male.

His personality test showed him 4s almost all the way down the sheet, just one 5.

His weight this morning was 9.5 pounds.
